Ninoy Aquino International Airport
Pasay City, Metro Manila 1300
Philippines
MNL

The former Manila International Airport renamed Ninoy Aquino International Airport, is the Philippines' primary gateway to the world. The airport serves mostly the Metro Manila area, but it's also commonly used by residents of outlying provinces like Batangas, Bulacan, Pampanga, Nueva Ecija, Rizal, Bataan, Cavite, etc.

Because of under-developed airports around Luzon, or around the country for that matter, citizens are forced to take the long trip home and back to pickup or send off their passengers who are going overseas. It is very common to find people from as far North as Ilocos Norte or as far South as the Bicol region come to NAIA to travel abroad.

NAIA is the busiest airport in the whole Philippines and the 72nd busiest in passenger traffic in the world according to a 2006 report.

Winnipeg, the capital city of Manitoba, is believed to be where the name Winnie-The-Pooh was derived from. A Winnipeg-born soldier who raised a black bear cub during World War 1 donated this bear to the London Zoo and became a favorite of the people of London as well as author A.A. Milne and his son, Christopher Robin. It's a very interesting story that you can read in part here.
